Morris Engineering Group, LLC, an electrical consulting engineering firm, seeks an experienced, energetic, and talented senior electrical engineer to provide lead engineer services for an array of projects for our clients throughout the State of Alaska.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for development of electrical engineering projects from start to finish in close coordination with a multi-disciplined team. Coordinates workload through the entire project development to complete documents on time and within budget.

2. Establishes and maintains good client relations, and assists in marketing, design and production meetings.

3. Assumes the electrical lead on projects of all shapes and sizes. Experienced in an array of engineering projects such as:

Commercial Buildings, Street Lighting Systems, Boat Harbors, Marine Ferry Terminals, Cruise Ship Docks, Educational Facilities, Airports, Multi-family Dwellings, Government Institutions, Utility & Industrial Plants

4. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

Electrical system layout and design, including power and lighting systems, fire alarm systems, communication and security systems.

Writing and editing of project specifications.

Review of shop drawings, change orders and other construction documents.

Production of construction ready plans and specifications.

Develops detailed project cost estimates.

Provides technical support during project bidding, on site inspections, etc.

Review projects for code compliance and stays current on all relevant federal, state, and local code requirements.

5. May direct the activities of other electrical engineering professionals and technicians, and act as a mentor to other staff members. Conducts quality control on the work of other engineers and technicians. Reviews electrical documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines.
